Meet the TMs: Greg Lonergan and Al Toops

Scotts Professional has an extensive network of Territory Managers throughout North America. These field experts are available to answer questions from nursery and greenhouse growers, from finding solutions to common problems to recommending the products that are right for a particular crop. Scotts Professional Territory Managers are divided into two main groups based on their geographic location.

Representing the Eastern Region this month is Greg Lonergan of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A graduate of Virginia Tech University with a bachelor of science degree in horticulture, Greg has been with Scotts Professional for about five years, and he serves as a Territory Manager for Delaware, Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland.

“I help individual businesses manage their cost of production by regularly analyzing the cost-in-use of the various nutritional inputs they use in plant production,” Lonergan said. “I help growers tackle the challenges involved with producing the best possible crop, taking into account the environment and constantly changing weather patterns. My goal is to be a business asset, not just a sales person!”

Al Toops of Vancouver, Washington is this month’s Western Region Territory Manager. Al covers a geographic area that includes Washington state, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming and Western Canada.

“I really enjoy being able to offer growers the best products in the industry, providing them with a line of fertilizers and plant protection products that will help them increase their profits,” Toops said. “There is one constant about Scotts Professional’s product line, and that’s proven reliability. Nearly all of the growers I work with know this about the Scotts product line and being a representative for this line is a great honor. I feel that I have always represented the best possible products to my customers.”
